Miner Safety Management System Technical Solution
I. System Overview
This Miner Safety Management System is designed to enhance the safety of underground mining operations by utilizing advanced positioning technologies and communication methods to achieve real-time and precise positioning and monitoring of miners as well as engineering machinery and vehicles.

II. System Architecture
- System Architecture
(1) Smart GPS Watch
The GPS watch is equipped with a high-precision GPS/Beidou module for accurate positioning outside the mine. Bluetooth beacons or Wifi beacons are deployed inside the mine. When miners enter the mine and GPS signals are limited, the watch interacts with the pre-set beacons to achieve high-precision indoor positioning.
The watch integrates a 4G full-network module and a Wifi module. When miners are inside the mine and the 4G signal is weak, it automatically switches to Wifi mode to ensure seamless data transmission.
The smart watch is equipped with various sensors, including a gyroscope sensor, heart rate sensor, barometric pressure sensor, and body temperature sensor, to collect real-time data on miners’ movement and physiological conditions, providing care for miners’ safety and health.
The watch can support SDK secondary development, define physical button functions according to needs, customize resources such as dials and startup animations, and support online OTA upgrade services.
(2) GPS Locator for Engineering Machinery and Vehicles
Engineering machinery and vehicles are equipped with GPS locators, which communicate with the backend positioning software via 4G and Wifi. These locators send real-time location and operational status data to the backend software for unified management and monitoring. In open areas of the mine, positioning data is transmitted via the 4G network. When approaching the mine or entering areas covered by Wifi, the system automatically switches to Wifi communication to ensure stable and real-time data transmission.

(3) Backend Positioning Software
The backend positioning software is support deployed on your private server and receives data from smart positioning watches and GPS locators via the TCP protocol or MQTT protocol. This software has strong data parsing capabilities and can quickly and accurately parse data formats from different types of devices.
The software features an intuitive visual monitoring interface that displays the real-time location and movement trajectories of miners and engineering machinery vehicles on a map. It sets safety rules and warning thresholds, such as when miners enter hazardous areas or when vital signs are abnormal. Once a warning condition is triggered, the system immediately sends alerts to managers via sound and light alarms, SMS notifications, and email notifications to enable timely action.
The backend positioning software also has an AI multimedia data dissemination function. Managers can send multimedia data, including images, text, and multilingual voice messages, to smart positioning watches in bulk.
This system can be integrated with the AI occupational health management system, which has functions such as employee health management and pre-shift meeting screening and early warning. Through the miners’ intelligent positioning watches and various health monitoring sensors, it can monitor the miners’ physiological data in real time, such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, etc., and evaluate their health status in combination with the miners’ working environment and tasks. If abnormal data is detected, the system will issue an early warning in time and suggest that the miners take a rest or seek medical treatment.
The software supports private deployment and interfaces with third-party health management platforms through APIs.
